Ashley DuBois

DuBois Dear Students and Parents,

My name is Ashley DuBois, and I am the new 6th grade teacher at Prairie Crossing Elementary School.  I am thrilled to join the 6th grade team and look forward to an amazing 2018-19 school year at PCE!

I am originally from New Jersey but have lived all over the states, as well as abroad.  I moved to Colorado three years ago and have loved every minute of my time here. I am so happy to call Colorado my home and have truly found my happy place.  My husband and I recently moved to Parker from Denver this past spring and have really loved settling into our new home and neighborhood as we wait for the arrival of our baby girl.

I received my Masters in Education in New York City in 2011 and have been teaching ever since.  I began my teaching career teaching English in South Korea, and after moving back to the states I taught 6th and 4th grade in South Carolina.  For the past two years I have been teaching 5th grade in Denver Public Schools, and prior to that I was teaching 6th grade in Aurora Public Schools.  I absolutely love teaching and working with children and feel extremely lucky to be in this profession.

I am very excited about what is in store for our 6th grade year.  We have a lot of fun things planned for the year ahead, such as our outdoor ed trip this fall!  This year we will be attending Stone Canyon Edventures in Larkspur, October 31 - November 2. For those of you that like to plan ahead, here is a link to the packing information. This is the link to the online forms for Outdoor Ed. (Scroll down until you see Prairie Crossing in the oval.) You will register for Outdoor Ed in two places. The forms are on the Stone Canyon site, and the payment is listed with your fees in RevTrak.  You can do the registration now, but you can not pay the field trip fees until Express Check-In opens, which will be about July 20th.

Parents will need to complete Mandatory Express Check-In. Office hours are also posted on the PCE website at:  schools.dcsdk12.org/pce if you need assistance. The first day of school will be Thursday, August 9th.

I am looking forward to meeting you in August and hope you have a fun and safe summer!
